Most discussion related to youth disturbances and behaviour in Pately. Community and youth workers voiced their problems centering around lack of dedicated building for the youth club in Pateley and lack of funding and resource. The police will be installing visible camera(s) in the hotspots to surveil and called for people to come forward with information to help prosecution. Most of the activity was low level offense so the accumulation of evidence about the indivduals behaviour in several occasions would help. The Police stated that the problem seems to be only a handful of youths, and that better parenting is the best solution to the problems long term
There was concern about the Police Station in Pateley Bridge moving. The building is deemed unsuitable and Police stations are being reorganised to be more visible and central to the communities they support. Possibilities include a shared shop front location in Pateley and relocation of the main station to Summerbridge
Comments were made that the hotline telephone for councillors to call for Police assistance was unanswered four times
The speeding matrix has continued to be used and a new smaller model will soon be available. It was noted by the Police that a good portion of motorists speeding through the requested locations monitored were locals from those areas. It was also pointed out that the most effective methods to reduce speed are chicanes as in Dacre and parked cars
Most crime was down in the area, and the increases were due to theft to order of old style Landrovers and metal theft by repeat offenders
